Minecraft friend joining server disconnects downloading terrain

My friend is still having the same exact issue as well. I'm able to connect over LAN but not over the internet either. I checked the port with canyouseeme as well as disabling the firewall completely temporarily. In both cases nothing changed from the player or server log perspective. I've tried re-generating the world with the vanilla install, as well as deleting the player files, but nothing has seemed to work so far. This is a fresh map twice now so it shouldn't be any kind of protection issue etc.

I've also tried using Java 7 x64 and Java 6 x86 I used direct path to Java to make sure I launched the different flavors Bat command: Code:. You said that is was possible to connect within your LAN? It looks like either their connection or your connection is faulty in some way or another. Is it just your friend that cannot connect to the server or is it everyone that tries to connect outside your LAN?

Yeah, same problem Plz help soeone! I recently started using bukkit and also got stuck at downloading terrain. I removed all my plugins and now it works I still cant run the trade addon i want, if i add a plugin it gets stuck again.

Other than my friend's connection I don't have any problems with the server, so if it's unrelated, I won't worry too much about it I think. Then again, he had the same problems when he connected to a public server found on a site, so I guess it probably isn't me XD. Thanks for the response though. User Info: Howdy Double check your java version manually. Sometimes you can get into a situation where your browser java is 64 bit but your system java is 32 bit.

Not likely to be the case but it's happened to me in the past, then the website only detects the browser's java version. Howdy posted And so is my browser lol. I'll get that sorted now, hopefully that's all there is to the RAM problem :D. Ok, everything is now 64bit, and it seems the RAM problems resolved :P. How much RAM would you recommend?

Is that only if he can't connect at all, or could it actually help strengthen the connection? Also, he tried another public server and he had no problems, so I guess there may be something to do on my end after all. He doesn't have Optifine apparently.

I'll leave the ram recommendation to someone else. I'm not sure what the hosting site I use supplies to the server. Adding the port the to the ip address is a good idea. I think minecraft defaults to that one correctly but it specifying it like that will ensure it. Well I tested the server with my friend again, and it seems that the connection problems are gone, he added to the ip address. He did say however that at first it was still not perfect, still some lag I think, but then that went away.

Hopefully it wasn't just a coincidence that it worked better after adding lol. I'll try again today. More topics from this board Why are my villagers disappearing?
